Our Story
La Foret began with the atmosphere of a cafe — a space softened by plants, texture, and natural light. As guests began asking about the objects that shaped the room, the studio became a way to bring that feeling home.
The cafe was loud only when it needed to be. Mostly it was quiet — slow music, light through tall windows, plants leaned against corners. People sat longer than they meant to.
The room did most of the work. We started paying attention to which objects in it were responsible for the feeling.
La Foret Studio was started so the atmosphere people noticed in the cafe could be carried somewhere else. The first collection begins with the easiest part to take home: plants and planters.
From there the studio expands slowly — textiles, ceramics, small architectural pieces — only what fits the feeling.
Plants
Architectural species chosen for indoor light and slow growth. We avoid trend plants and favour ones that age into a room.
Planters
Stoneware and ceramic vessels with handmade irregularities. Reactive glazes, undyed clay, considered weight.
Homeware
Quiet objects that support the atmosphere — textiles, shelves, simple wooden surfaces.
We are not designing rooms. We are gathering the few objects that, in the right room, do most of the work.
